The Location
Emu Park is a small friendly town, situated within the Tropic of Capricorn, from which the area gets its name. It is approx. 40 kms from the main Central Queensland town of Rockhampton and close to the coastal town of Yeppoon. Capricornia is also the location of the Keppel Islands; Great Keppel being just 30 minutes away by ferry from the
boat harbour at Rosslyn Bay. The Capricorn Coast is still a relatively unspoilt part of the Queensland Coast, with some beautiful scenery and uncrowded beaches, - even sometimes one all to yourself! The Capricorn Coast has a perfect climate, year round. Generally one can expect hot summers, but not unbearable; and mild sunny winters when the nights get cool, but not freezing. Clear days with blue skies are the norm!
